Day 1- Pinnawala / Sigiriya

Early next morning, you will depart to Sigiriya. En-route, you will stop at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage for some one-on-one interaction with the Elephants of Sri Lanka.

The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to the many orphaned elephants found in the jungle. Since the inception of the program over 20 elephants have been bred here. The aim of the orphanage is to simulate a natural habitat to these elephants. However, there are some exceptions: the elephants are taken to the river twice a day for a bath, and all the babies less than three years of age are still bottle fed by the mahouts and volunteers .In the afternoon, you will visit the Lion`s Rock` in Sigiriya.

sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. Referred by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka. One of the most striking features of Sigiriya is its Mirror wall.After an entertaining day 2 of your tour, arrive at your hotel in Sigiriya and complete your swift check-in procedure. Head to your room and retire for the night, ending the second beautiful day of your Sri Lanka holiday.

Day 2 - Dambulla Cave Temple / Kandy

Today you will drive towards to visit the Dambulla cave temples en route.The Buddhist temple complex of Dambulla consists of five cave temples carved under a very large overhanging rock. The temples were carved out over several centuries, but the oldest dates back to the 1st century B.C.E. The temples include numerous carved statues of Buddha, and his faithful disciple Ananda, as well as Hindu deities.The vast internal spaces of the cave shrines are not compartmentalized, but are spatially differentiated by a deliberate and subtle arrangement of polychrome sculpture of exceptional craftsmanship and decorated with brilliant compositions of mural paintings.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a world-renowned place of worship, where the left Canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. The temple which is venerated by thousands of local foreign devotees and tourists daily was named as a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988. The temple which carries a lot of value to Buddhists all over the world also has immense cultural value. The architecture is of unique Kandyan architectural style with a combination of the unique style used to build Dalada Mandira the shrines which housed the Sacred Tooth Relic previously in other kingdoms.The temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is built in the city of Kandy near the ancient Royal Palace which is situated to the North of the temple and the forest reserve called Udawaththa Kelaya to the East. The famous Kandy Lake also known as Kiri Muhuda” to the South and Natha Paththini Devala on the West. The temple is adorned with intricate carvings using gold, silver, bronze and ivory.

Day 3 - Kandy / Colombo

After Breakfast you will visit Peradadeniya.Peradeniya Botanical Garden The gardens display over 4000 different species of plants, regarded amongst the most superior in Asia.The highlight is the spectacular Orchid collection and a mighty avenue of palm trees. In addition to a plethora of flowering plants, there is also an extensive collection of medicinal plants and spices which can be spotted on your meander across the gardens. Encompassing over 60 hectares of sublimely designed lawns, pavilions and plant houses, the extraordinary array of Sri Lankan, Asian and international flora is a fragrant, colorful view on the eye. Gorgeous avenues lead on to sections exploding in bursts of tropical color and vast lawns dotted with enormous trees.

After Breakfast proceed to Colombo.On your way to Colombo you will visit Independence Square.The Independence Square is one of the most vital and historical monuments in the city of Colombo. Bordered by a sprawling recreational park with manicured lawns, it is a popular attraction among families, friends and the keen joggers who spend their time at leisure.Next you will visit National Museum Colombo. The National Museum Colombo first opened in 1877 with only 800 exhibits showcasing some aspects of the history and culture of Sri Lanka. Aftre that you will go Galle Face and Shopping Mall in Colombo.A premier retail, entertainment and dining paradise to unite local and global shoppers.
